Green Business
Blue Sparrow Pilates is committed to being a green business, and continuing to
improve effiency, reduce waste, and reduce our carbon footprint. Blue Sparrow
carbon footprint is only 2.91 tonnes of CO2. We calculation included building
efficiencies as well as travel for our teachers.
FLOOR: Our Pergo floors reduce the amount of natural resources being used and
consist for the most part of recycled materials. Pergo was the first laminate
flooring to receive the Nordic Ecolabel – the Swan, which is based on an
evaluation of the environmental impact of a product during its whole life cycle.
CLEAN: We clean our mats and equipment with tea tree oil which has natural antiseptic,
antifungal, and antibacterial properties as well as very low allergy rate. We
clean our Pergo floors with vinegar, which is safe for the environment and for
our clients. We use eco-friendly bathroom and surface cleaners. We wash all of
our reusable fabric towels eco-friendly brands of laundry detergent and never
use bleach.
PAPER: We buy recycled office paper and eco-friendly brands of recycled toilet
paper.
AIR: We do our very best to keep the air in the studio clean by choosing plants
that help clean the air.
TRAVEL: Our teachers are committed to commuting as much as possible by bike,
foot, and public transit.
