Cycling Club
If you're new to cycling, getting back into cycling, or looking for a group to motivate you to ride on the weekends, or you simply want to get outside, get some exercise, and make new friends, you've come to the right place!
Blue Sparrow Cycling Club was founded by Holly Furgason, owner of Blue Sparrow Pilates North Beach, Vinona Bhatia, a physician working on Global Health Development, and Chris Konovaliv, a freelance audio engineer. Our goals are to ride in beautiful places, take pleasure from the outdoors, enjoy the benefits of good fitness, and socialize with a ride. The rewards are huge and it will take you to some of the most breathtaking places in the Bay Area.
We believe road biking is the toughest and most beautiful sport in the world requiring stamina, strength, mental focus, and fortitude. We love road biking and think it is a perfect counterpoint to our fast paced lives. Instead of instant gratification, we get our highs from applying ourselves totally, over time, and seeing the results.
Our rides are:
- On Saturdays and Sundays, though members may lead rides anytime.
- For beginners and intermediate cyclists (all levels really!)
- Generally originate in San Francisco and loop out of the city. Occasionally, we caravan elsewhere in the Bay Area.
- Free
Joining us on the road!
